State Auditor Training Program

The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts (DOAA) is pleased to present the State Auditor Training Program’s 2026 Governmental Accounting and Reporting Issues Seminar. DOAA is committed to providing valuable insights to local governments and audit professionals. Each year brings unique challenges and opportunities for our seminar, and this year will be no exception.

New this year: We will be offering a virtual hybrid option, allowing attendees to participate online at the same time the in‑person event is held.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Governmental Accounting and Reporting Issues Seminar. We look forward to seeing you on November 16 – 17, 2026, either at Middle Georgia State University or virtually. After registration is complete, you will receive an email containing all pertinent information including access and instructions to the electronic training materials and any necessary venue requirements.

This training provides practical updates and guidance for professionals in local governments, municipalities, and auditing. This year’s featured topics are designed to help you stay current on key developments in governmental accounting and reporting.

  • Focused discussions on general local governmental accounting and reporting issues from the DOAA Local Government (NPLG) Desk Review team
  • Discussion on research reporting requirements with Fletcher Morris from the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Research team
  • Frank Crawford will discuss updates regarding Audit Standards, Single Audit, Yellow Book, and AICPA Quality Management Standards
  • David Bean and Frank Crawford will discuss recent GASB pronouncements and provide implementation guidance
