We are seeking motivated auditors to help make a difference for the citizens of Georgia. Successful candidates will play an integral role in performing financial and compliance audits and reviews for a variety of public entities.

Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will:

  • Conduct audits of documents related to all or some of the following: financial operations controls, data, procedures, compliance with laws and regulations, conformance to accounting standards, and similar audit criteria.
  • Interview client personnel, perform walk throughs of tranactions and processes, review client prepared documentation, perform analytics, and other tests to assist in gaining an understanding of the entity and its environment and assessing the risk of material misstatement or complaince with policies, laws and regulations.
  • Assist with establishing and documenting an understanding with the client regarding the services to be performed for each engagement.
  • Assist with the development of the audit plan, which includes the nature, timing and extent of audit procedures to be performed by the audit team in order to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence.
  • Assist with supervising and evalutation of the efforts of assistants who are involved in accomplishing the objectives of the audit and determining whether those objectives were accomplished.
  • Determine what additional information is required to complete a thorough audit, and communicate with client to obtain additional material.
  • Assemble and assess deficiencies, draw conclusions and write report narratives based on the audit process and results.
  • Oversee the preparation and organization of working papers to be used in the final report.
  • When employee functions as a team leader, he/she serves as the primary audit interface with the client before and during the audit; communciates deficiencies to client and provides guidance on how to prevent errors and deficiencies in the future.
  • Perform other responsibilities related to the audit as required.

Requirements

  • Education Required: Completion of bachelor’s (four year) college degree with emphasis/major in accounting.
  • Prior Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in auditing or related field.
  • Information Technology: Intermediate level of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Knowledge of Oracle and Peoplesoft preferred.

Compensation commensurate with experience and internal equity

Hiring range of $60,759 to $86,977. The salary will be based on factors such as education, certifications, experience, and both internal and external pay equity.
